Poultry bedding: keep deep litter dry and workable
Bedding in a poultry house should give birds a dry, comfortable surface. A deep-litter approach needs regular observation, adequate ventilation and prompt correction of wet patches. It is not simply a reason to keep adding material over an unmanaged floor.
Termites as poultry feed: local observation and a cautious trial
Chickens readily investigate many insects, including termites. That observation does not make termite collection a complete feeding system. Consider species, contamination, habitat and the value of the insects in the soil before encouraging or harvesting them.
